We are honored to share photos with you from this year's annual reception, "A Passion For Living" which took place at Arena Stage on Saturday October 13th. With 196 people in attendance, this year's event  which is held to raise crucial funds for Us Helping Us' prevention programs and services, also honored specific individuals and businesses for their commitment to fighting the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The 2012 Honorees were:

Founders Award – Dr. Mayer, Dr. Koblin, Dr. Wheeler and the HPTN 061 Study Team

Thurlow Tibbs Award –  ABilly S. Jones-Hennin and Sheila Alexander-Reid

Chairman’s Award – K&L Gates

Volunteer’s Award – Ronald Morgan

There was also a silent auction held as part of the evening's festivities which gave people the opportunity to bid on various pieces of African art which was donated to Us Helping Us. At the event we also asked guests to give donations and thanks to the generosity of all those in attendance, we raised $2,395. Us Helping Us would also like to thank DC Allen, owner of The Crew Club, who graciously offered to match all donations made at the event.  To all of our donors and all those in the community who attended, thank you for helping Us Helping Us. Because of your support, the event was a total success. And to all of our friends, please consider making a donation. Your continued support will allow Us Helping Us in 2012 to fight HIV in the Black community and empower the lives of Black gay and same-gender-loving men.
